A Gatsby Golf Affair

Golf is a game of intense focus and skill. Golf is a gentleman’s sport. I am neither skilled, focused, nor a gentleman. So, I was uninterested in golf until I read The Great Gatsby. Upon being introduced to the literary figure Ms. Jordan Baker, the infamous female professional golf pro who drank, smoked, and did whatever she liked, I was obsessed. A female athlete who was described as strikingly beautiful, constantly toting a dry martini around a crowded glittering party–perfection. A lady who could sidle up to the bar with the guys after a game and enjoy a gin and tonic–brilliant. So, in honor of the upcoming PGA Tournament, the Wyndham Championship, I thought it would be fun to throw a Jordan Baker-themed cocktail party, complete with a putting contest. The menu: Aviation Dry Gin Martinis, and The Baker Birdy–a Jordan Baker-themed take on the Pebble Beach cocktail.

    Brilliant!
Bring back the whimsy and humor that golf was once known for!
The Baker Birdy sounds delicious, and Jordan certainly deserves having a cocktail named for her!

We couldn’t agree more! You’ll have to try out The Baker Birdy and let us know what you think.
